Takeharu Acoustic Guitars

Takeharu acoustic guitars are very nice looking well-made guitars with a distinctive headstock. Three-piece bookmarked-backs and even some tortoise-shell pickguards (may be faux-tortoise...anyone know? the real thing may have been more common back in the 60's and 70's)Some have laminate tops, others solid. Well-made and nice sounding guitars...

History of Takeharu Guitars

Takeharu Guitars were a brand of the Kiso Suzuki Violin company made between 1973 and 1979. They were a result of a collaboration between composer Yamamoto Takeharu and the Kiso Suzuki Violin Company. What input Mr. Takeharu had in the design of the guitars is unknown, as well as why the relationship ended. But this much is known - the brand is well-liked by the owners.

The Takeharu brand guitar has a label signed with his first name “Yamamoto”
